Dimension: 4
There's some ambition in bringing an arcade game to a console, although a lot of corners were cut.
The Flair: B
Arcade graphics are nice, but the sense of speed is marred by how the incoming elements get bigger in size coarsely. Also, the design of scenarios has really been uncared-for.
The Feel: 8
Helicopter controls feel fine, but besides that, the gameplay isn't good since it feels like a gamble to dodge the enemy attacks. Top-down sections are okay and add a bit of variety.
The Fuel: 7
Poor level design, repeated enemies throughout the game (except for the bosses), and an absurd difficulty curve leave this game in a bad position.

Classic Score
Conclusions
Super Thunder Blade was an attempt to bring an arcade experience to consoles that didn't quite work out. Its irregular gameplay and graphics, plus an unbalanced difficulty, leave few reasons to stick with the game past the first couple of defeats, unless you really crave an unfairly hard challenge.
