Dimension: 6
While brawlers are generally a lightweight genre, this game is packed with ambition. Quite impressive for a fourth generation handheld title.
The Flair: D
Excellent graphics, even by the Lynx's lofty standards. Soundtrack is repetitive throughout all the game - only the final level has a different theme - and sound effects are just okay.
The Feel: 7
Controlling Batman feels clunky, with limited attacks and mobility to handle all the spawning enemies. Throwables are a nice touch, but they don't save the poor gameplay. The unfair and unbalanced difficulty makes it even worse.
The Fuel: 9
There's a good variety of enemies, it's nice to be able to fight bosses like Penguin and Catwoman. The quality isn't great though, especially the level design, which feels a bit uninspired despite the different themes for each level.
Mediocre

Classic Score
Conclusions
Batman Returns showcases some of the great capabilities the Lynx had back in the day, with impressive graphics for a 1992 handheld title. However, it falls short where it counts the most, with four underwhelming levels and generally poor gameplay relegating the game to mediocrity.
