It's an early PS2 title, but in many aspects it could perfectly had been released on PS1. It's a pretty modest game both in technical terms as well as in its size and content. We have to add into the bargain the fact it's a recycled idea - Wetrix from the N64 was its predecessor - and it doesn't really introduce any new major concepts.
The Flair: A
It has nothing too fancy, but it's okay. Again, for a PS2 title it looks extremely simplistic, but we have to consider the fact it's an early title for the platform. Moreover, both the visuals and sound are pretty decent, it's the extremely soulless menus and slightly excessive loading screens that penalize it.
The Feel: 9
It's fun to build your pools and boost your score while you try to survive whatever incoming inclemency. The gameplay would be the game's greatest strength if it weren't for the fact the controls are not good. It can be very hard to get the pieces in the place you want them, even without pressure, and the bad sensitivity of the left analog is the main reason.
The Fuel: 8
The content offered by the game, although not terrible, is scarce and unremarkable. Besides, the tutorial is absurdly hard and the rest of modes are locked until you complete it without any reason, since the game is intuitive enough to learn as you play it.
Mediocre

Classic Score
Conclusions
Aqua Aqua is an unremarkable continuation title that tries to squeeze content out of the fairly fun and original idea introduced by its predecessor - Wetrix. While it's certainly fun at its peaks and poses an interesting set of new concepts and challenges, it only manages to flood out the pools of mediocrity due to its poor controls and scarce content.
