The Wii U was a commercial failure, and unfortunately, its lifespan was short. However, titles like this remind us that it’s a very unique piece of hardware with a lot of potential. Despite being ambitious in certain aspects—especially in gameplay design, physics detail, and controls—it’s clear that this is an indie game in terms of its visuals and the scope of its content.
The Flair: B
The game doesn’t feature particularly outstanding technical aspects, but its quality is more than decent. While the visuals aren’t particularly remarkable, the art style has enough personality, and the animations are very well done. The sound effects stand out more compared to other elements. Overall, it performs very well for an indie title.
The Feel: F
The gameplay is, without a doubt, one of the most clever and entertaining experiences we’ve had the pleasure of playing in the puzzle genre. The brilliance and originality of the mechanics, as well as how seamlessly they are integrated with the console’s hardware, are remarkable. Truly impressive—F outta F.
The Fuel: D
The title features a considerable number of levels, most of which are very short. The level design is generally excellent, though with some obvious ups and downs. However, the gameplay is so, so good that it feels like more could have been done to fully exploit the idea. What we liked the most was how the adventure gradually introduces the spaceship’s capabilities and how these evolve as the story progresses.

Conclusions
Affordable Space Adventures is an excellent action-puzzle game that exploits the capabilities of the Wii U like almost no other title in its catalog. It demonstrates that the unique aspects of the hardware open up a whole new world of possibilities, similar to how the Nintendo DS or the original Wii did in their time. Its gameplay is exquisite, providing countless moments of satisfaction as you figure out the key to overcoming the challenges it presents.
