This is a port of the console version released a year earlier. While the PSP version introduces some new content, for the most part, it’s a stripped-down, lighter version of the original. The challenge for the developers was to translate the experience to Sony's handheld.
The Flair: B
On a technical level, though it’s obviously a significant downgrade from the console version, it’s a polished and more-than-decent game. The graphics are fine for the PSP, the classic 007 soundtrack never disappoints, and the voice acting is notable. However, some camera glitches and subpar performance prevent the experience from being as smooth as it could have been.
The Feel: A
Given how shooters are conceived today and have been for many years, the use of dual analog sticks is the only way to replicate the PC mouse-and-keyboard controls that shaped the genre. Without a right analog stick on the PSP, the initial feeling is awkward, and it takes time to adjust to using the conventional buttons to move the camera. That said, while not optimal, it delivers a satisfying experience once you get used to it. There are more significant issues with aiming, enemy detection, and cover mechanics, but overall, the gameplay is enjoyable and offers a decent approach to the genre in a portable format.
The Fuel: B
In terms of content, there’s another notable downgrade compared to the original game, most significantly omitting driving levels. The story consists of 8 main levels and 16 challenge levels that unlock as you complete the main ones with certain requirements. The level design doesn’t stand out for its variety or quality but has good moments and easily meets basic expectations. The unlockables for each mission are interesting challenges but the corresponding rewards only add up to the multiplayer experience.

Conclusions
007: From Russia With Love for the PSP is a solid title that, while having its shortcomings, successfully adapts the original game to a portable format. For those who have already completed the original game, this version might feel incomplete and inferior, but it remains a pocket size solid, perfectly enjoyable title in its own right.
